Consisting of an inner and outer plate for one side of the door or wall and a plain plate for the other side. The inner and outer plate houses the intumescent material which, in a fire, would seal up slots and louvres, giving one hour fire protection. Two types of plates are supplied: for louvred add /L after the reference. A door requiring protection on the risk side only (i.e. room door) require one set of MG/S or MGL/S. A door requiring one hour protection to both sides (ie. corridor or top of stairs), require one set of MG/D or MGL/D. Made in 15 standard sizes, the grilles are finished in brown, white and stainless steel. Other sizes and colours are made to order.
MG slotted type for more ventilation/MGL louvred non-viewing type. Each slot gives 6cm2 and louvre 3.2 cm2 free ventilation area.

Tested to BS476 Parts 20 and 22 (1987), achieving 66 minutes on one side only.
Tested to BS476 Part 22 (1987), achieving an integrity of 73 minutes.
